SMOKE DETECTOR MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT
The tenants shall be responsible for testing the smoke detector(s) at least once per month. It is suggested that this shall be done on the 1st day of each month. If the smoke detector(s) are battery operated, tenant shall be responsible for replacement of the batteries when required at tenant's expense. The Smoke Detector(s) should be checked monthly by depressing the test button to insure it is in working order. Failing batteries will alert the tenant by beeping every couple of minutes for about a week. Be sure to replace the batteries. If after testing or replacing a battery, the smoke detector fails to operate, the tenants must immediately notify the Landlord.
